Job Description:
Currently our client, a well-established brand in the E-Commerce Industry is looking for Legal Manager to join their team as descripted below:
- Establish a legal compliance and risk control framework in Southeast Asia (including Indonesia, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, etc.) and oversee its implementation and execution
- Identify, manage, and maintain the most suitable overseas intermediary resources, and build and manage a pool of such resources.
- Liaise with local regulatory authorities, chambers of commerce, and associations to maintain a positive corporate image in the eyes of local regulators.
- Assist in handling various overseas crisis events such as visa issues, negative public opinion, and government inquiries.
- Oversee key compliance areas, including company seal and license management, labor compliance, overseas data (GDPR), anti-corruption, export controls and sanctions, anti-monopoly, and trade secret protection.
- Assist the group’s legal department in handling overseas disputes.
- Provide legal support and solutions for overseas activities such as property leasing, investment, procurement, and sales.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or above, major in law or related fields.
- Over 8 years of relevant experience, with at least 2 years in a lead legal role at a well-known company in e-commerce, trade, wholesale, or retail.
- Strong legal knowledge with excellent analytical and data processing abilities. Proficient in financial software and Office tools.
- Curious and empathetic, with strong problem-solving skills and keen business insights.
- Strong sense of responsibility, proven team leadership skills, and excellent English communication abilities.
